Mohamed, Lagarde discuss UAE-IMF ties

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received at his majlis in Al Bahr Palace, the visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director, Christine Lagarde, and her accompanying delegation.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Lagarde and discussed with her bilateral relations between the UAE and the IMF as well as ways to enhance them.

Lagarde spoke about the role played by the IMF to enhance the global economy and follow-up steps taken in some member countries to achieve the necessary economic and financial stability for growth as well as the role played in supporting countries to address their economic issues.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Lagarde exchanged views on a number of economic and development issues and the latest developments in the global economy as well as ways to address them, which would contribute to achieving development and stability in the region and the world.

Among those who attended Sheikh Mohamed's majlis were Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region; Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region;  Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs (ZHO), a number of Sheikhs, ministers and officials.
