General Department for Drug Control of the Federal Ministry of the Interior in cooperation with the GCC-Criminal Information Centre successfully arrested an Asian carrying 4kg heroin, narcotic drugs and other psychotropic substances in Oman.
His intention was to sell the drugs.
The arrest coincided with the MoI’s participation at the opening ceremony of the GCC-Criminal Information Centre to combat Drugs in Qatar.
Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Drug Control Federal Ministry of the Interior and member of center board of directors, said that the center is the culmination of the tireless efforts of the Interior Ministers of GCC, aimed at achieving security integration among the GCC countries.
Colonel Saqr Al Muraikhi, Director of Criminal Information Center for Drug Control Cooperation Council Countries, said that the center plays an important role in the exchange of information, where the process is documented in the Center's database.
Col. Abdul Rahim Alfarisi, Director-General of the fight against drugs in the Sultanate of Oman and Center board member, praised the efforts made in the monitoring and follow-up process, which resulted in the seizure of drugs.
