More showers likely today and tomorrow

Patchy showers drenched several parts of the UAE on Friday and are expected to continue on Saturday and Sunday, according to the national weather bureau.  The country will experience overcast clouds, it added.

There is also some possibility of flooding in low lying areas, and those spots prone to water logging even after brief showers.

Weather offices have warned people not to venture into seas as high waves caused by strong winds would continue for a couple of more days.

The highest rainfall was in the western region, where 31.2mm fell between Thursday and Friday evening in Al Ghuwaifat, reported 'Gulf News'.

The roads are slippery due to overnight showers, said motorists going driving to work early Saturday morning.
