Multiple accidents are being reported from many parts of Dubai, with Dubai Police advising motorists to drive with caution.

Thick fog blanketed many parts of the UAE this morning, with drivers struggling due to poor visibility.

Jebel Ali-bound traffic came to a standstill on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (earlier known as Emirates Road) after a huge crash was reported near the free zone entrance.

“07:50am accident clogged traffic on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed [Road] after Al Kasarat Roundabout in the direction of Abu Dhabi near Maktoum Airport,” Dubai Police said in a tweet this morning.

Local radio stations updated about the traffic situation.

“#Dubai92Twaffic 8.04am - Big crash on Emirates Rd. Jebel Ali bound, just by JAFZA south entrance. 10+ cars involved. PLS RT,” tweeted Dubai 92Radio Jockey Catboy.

“#Dubai92Twaffic 8.19am - Another big crash opposite Mirdif City Centre AD bound on Emirates Rd. Traffic stopped. PLS RT,” he later tweeted.

Many motorists reported that their drive to work was delayed by an hour because of the poor visibility.

“It was tough to drive this morning as I couldn’t see clearly because of the thick fog,” said Sathish, who drives daily from Ajman to Dubai.

“My daily 20-minute work commute stretched to an unnerving hour-and-a-half on the road,” said Al Nahda resident Sulekha,

Some residents also took to twitter to warn motorists about driving safely.

“Fog in #dubai , crazy ppl drive safely okay no need to hurry,” wrote Maya El yazbek.
