National Day Holidays: UAE airlines slash fares to several destinations

Etihad and Emirates airlines have announced their National Day sale period. The two carriers have reduced their ticket prices to mark the event.

Dubai-based Emirates is running a special National Day fare scheme, which can be bought until the 26th of this month for travel from 18th of November until the 22nd of March of next year.

Etihad, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier, is offering discounts in its economy and business class to 44 of its destinations worldwide. To avail of the offer, passengers need to book now for travel from January 15 until May 31, 2016. The sale ends on the 28th of this month.

Sharjah-based Air Arabia also has a limited time offer to fly from Ras Al Khaimah to selected destinations starting from Dh449 return all inclusive.

The sale offer is valid until November 24 to fly until March 10 of next year. Under the offer, this special price is applicable to destinations like Lar, Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Abadan, Isfahan, Kuwait, Bahrain and Doha.

Many UAE residents are looking to travel during the National Day holidays in the country.

The National Day and Commemoration (Martyrs') Day holidays for employees of ministries and federal government departments will begin on Tuesday, December 1, with work resuming on Sunday, December 6, according to a circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

All employees working in private sector companies in the UAE will get December 2 and 3 as holidays. This makes for a four-day holiday break for the private sector, including the weekend.
