No imports of dioxin-contaminated products

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) confirmed that no products with dioxin is imported from Germnay, reports Al Khaleej newspaper.

Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communications and Community Service, ADFCA, said such products were exported only within the European Union.

However, Abu Dhabi has taken all precautionary measures to act if it receives any conatminated products for use in poultry farms.

Border security and customs officials have been alerted to strictly check products all products entering the emirate, especially from Germany.

ADFCA is following up daily with the International Food Safety Authorities Network (Infosan). Reyaysa said: "Information received from Infosan confirmed all feed additives with fatty acids produced by the German company since November 12 are likely to be contaminated with dioxin."
