No minors, women in hazardous jobs

Companies that recruit minors or women  in specified hazardous or harmful to health jobs, will be punished by‬ 100 black points, said Ministry of Labour according to Al Bayan newspaper.

It said violators will be transferred to the lowest category of classification and fined Dh20,000 for each violation.
 
According to the ministry, it is not allowed to recruit minors in 31 professions and women in 21 professions.

The ministry allows employment of women from 10pm to 7am in places such as hotels, restaurants and night clubs, cafes, buffets, theaters, cinemas, concert halls, and other similar facilities.

The ministry mentioned if the work was to prevent an accident or repair some damage to avoid loss of materials, or if the work was with a view to meet the pressure of work, in such cases the company should inform the Labor inspection department within ‬ 24 hours as well submit a statement of the emergency and the time required and get written consent.
