Around 881 motorists used the ‘Report a Minor Accident’ smart app during the holy month of Ramadan, said Brigadier Khalid Al Razzouqi, Director of Smart Services at Dubai Police.

“It is a simple tool. It guides on what to fill in the spaces: The vehicle type, your driving licence number and the road on which the accident has occurred – among others. Within minutes, drivers receive the police report for the accident which they can take to their respective insurance companies,” he said.

"Meanwhile, through ‘Accidents Now’ commuters can receive voice and written messages alerting them of the locations of accidents and telling them of possible alternative routes to help them avoid traffic jams."

“The app helps commuters to identify accidents and areas clogged with motor traffic jams,” he said.

Motorists can view congested areas on a map showing the streets of Dubai. “They can therefore opt for alternative routes.

Brigadier Al Razzouqi appealed to the public to take advantage of this app which not only saves them from accidents but saves time as they would avoid streets congested with traffic.
