No pay for federal staff without ID cards

Ministry of Finance has stopped financial transactions of government employees who have failed to submit copies of their National Identity Cards to their respective human resource departments, reports Al Bayan.

The ministry issued a circular to federal authorities for the need to provide copies of identity cards together with their ID number to the HR departments.

"The identification number for each employee is being made mandatory and no transaction of will be possible without the ID card and number," the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the ministry called upon all HR departments to speeden up the process of forwarding ID card details.

According to federal law, citizens need to have an ID number which is mandatory for any transaction.
