Call traffic on the du telecom network rocketed 198 per cent during the peak hours of the New Year's eve celebrations.

Mobile traffic volume in the Burj Khalia area shot up 205 per cent obviously due to the massive rush of merry-makers who arrived to witness the fireworks that ushered in 2011.
