Observatory invites star-gazers to watch eclipse
UAE Mobile Astronomical Observatory has invited star-gazers and astronomical enthusiasts and amateurs in the UAE watch the partial solar eclipse at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi.
Nizar Salam, Chairman of the Observatory, said the celestial phenomenal start on Tuesday at 12:00 noon and last for 02:22 minutes.
He said that members of the public will be provided with advanced goggles and sunglasses and educated about the phenomenon.
''The partial solar eclipse is the only one in the region up to 2013,''he noted.
He indicated that an observatory unit was installed in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Community Police, Astronomers Without Borders and Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences (AUASS).
The eclipse will be visible to most of Europe, North Africa, and Central Asia.
The Observatory warns the watchers, students and interested people against looking directly or indirectly to the sun without the safe, proper watching tools.
