A total of 57,915 federal government employees currently have their information in the federal payroll system been updated, while a further 105 employees are in the process of updating their information.

In a statement to Emirates News Agency, WAM, Younis Haji Al Khouri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, said that the ministry has worked with the relevant authorities to immediately update identity numbers in employee records, after a resolution to link the identity information to the federal government’s employee payroll. Other practical information in the electronic system would also be updated in co-ordination with the Federal Human Resources Authority.

Al Khouri stressed the commitment of all federal authorities to implementing the ministry’s instructions regarding the procedures of updating the identity information in the employee records.

He added that there were a few cases where records have not been updated in some authorities due to recent hiring, but the ministry is following up with relevant authorities to complete the process as soon as possible.

The ministry decided to stop processing salaries of employees who had not updated their personal information from last July, due to the importance of scrutinising and correcting national identity information for all employees, as well as to facilitate transactions, follow up on requests and respond to enquiries as soon as possible.

It issued a circular last April, directing all ministries and authorities linked to the federal payroll system, to link their employees’ identity data to payroll system by 10th July 2016.

This is a fundamental reference to all financial transactions and procedures in the UAE.
