Paint sprayed at second UAE speed camera
Unknown miscreants spayed paint on a speed camera in Ras Al Khaimah - the second such attack on the same camera in the recent past.
Police said they found the camera on Shaml Al Rams street covered with paint on Friday and that they are investigating the incident to identify the culprits.
Early this year, passersby informed the police that the camera was tarnished with paint to prevent it from detecting speedsters on that road.
“It is the second attack on the same camera….these are irresponsible acts by persons who do not realise the danger of their actions,” said Colonel Abdullah Mankhas, director of traffic at the RAK police.
“Damaging public property is a punishable crime under the law…we are investigating the incident to identify the culprits soon,” he told the semi- official Arabic language daily Al Ittihad.
