Prisoner rapes another in jail toilet

An Emirati locked up in the Central Jail is accused of raping a younger male inmate in the prison toilet.

The 42-year-old unemployed Emirati identified as AKM had forcibly taken the victim, a 21-year-old Pakistani MR, into a toilet in the jail and sodomised him on November 17, 2009.

The accused threatened the victim with a knife and even left burn marks on his hands and body with a cigarette.

He even threatened him with assault if he ever complained to the jail authorities.

The victim was allegedly warned he would get raped by all the jail inmates.

While the accused denied the accusation at a hearing, the court adjourned the case to November 3.
