A total of 132 convicts of various nationalities are being released in the emirate of Sharjah to mark the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, released the prisoners, who had served half their terms and demonstrated good conduct at Sharjah’s correctional and punitive establishments.
The release aimed to bring joy and hope to inmates and their relatives and friends, so they could all fully experience the joy of Eid.
Brigadier Saif Mohammad Al Ziri Al Shamsi, Chief of Sharjah Police, expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to the Ruler for this generous initiative.
Al Shamsi said he hoped the pardon would encourage prisoners to learn from their incarceration experiences and return to the community as good citizens.
Ajman Ruler orders release of 72 prisoners to mark Eid Al Adha
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, has ordered the release of 72 prisoners who are serving different jail terms at the Punitive and Correctional Institutions of Ajman Police, for good behaviour.
Sheikh Humaid’s pardon is a gesture that demonstrates his keenness to grant prisoners a chance to begin a new life and celebrate Eid festivities with their families.
Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Humaid for his kind gesture, saying that the pardon reflects the Ajman Ruler's interest in giving prisoners the chance to reform and become productive members of society.
