Rain forecast for today evening

Northern areas in the UAE could witness light rainfall this evening according to the UAE's Met department.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology, the weather today would be fair to partly cloudy in general, and cloudy at times over the sea. “The amount of clouds is likely to increase over some areas with a chance of scattered rain especially over extreme northern areas,” it said in its forecast for today.

An NCMS official confirmed that Northern Emirates, including Dubai and Sharjah could witness light rainfall. “The possibility of rain is there but wil mostly be in the evening. We can expect a similar pattern over the next two days as well,” he said.

The forecast also warns of moderate winds, freshening at times, causing blowing dust over the internal openland areas, especially the western openland areas.

The sea will mostly be moderate in general, becoming rough by evening.

Coastal areas will witness a minimum of 14 to a maximum of 23 degrees centigrade. The minimum temperature in mountains could get as low as six degrees, the met department has warned.
