Rashidiya water supply restored after 15 hours

Dubai Municipality has restored water supply to people in Rashidiya area, 15 hours after a crack developed in a major water pipeline due to high pressure.

The water pipe line was in Rashidiya Street parallel to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality praised the role of the waste management department by intervening immediately to deal with the problem.

Four supervisors and 30 staff from the emergency and crises team in the waste management department worked with all necessary equipment, in addition to a large shovel, sand sweepers and trucks for more than 15 hours to remove lumps of clay formed by water pools and sweeping sand from the internal roads in Rashidiya .

Abdul Majeed Saifaie, director of waste management department, who supervised the team, stressed that the protection of people and their property from environmental and health hazards is one of the priorities of the municipality.
