RTA offers Dubai bus drivers Umrah trip

Roads and Transport Authority’s Public Transport Agency has recently offered Umrah trip to 15 affiliated public bus drivers with the aim of raising their job satisfaction and bringing happiness to them.

“This initiative is part of our social responsibility towards a specific segment of RTA’s employees i.e. public bus drivers with the aim of raising their job satisfaction, and bringing happiness to them,” said Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

“The support accorded by the Agency stems from RTA’s keenness to support this important segment of employees and avail them the opportunity to perform Umrah. The selected bus drivers were escorted during the trip by a team from the Agency to ensure the smooth itinerary and meet the needs of travelers in terms of good hotel accommodation, transportation, and catering as well as the deployment Ulama’a (Islamic clerics) to give them relevant guidance and preaches,” said Ali.

“Priority was given to excellent-performing drivers who haven’t had performed Umra before, have accident-free record over two consecutive years, and those who are well-behaved. Priority was given to those who have 5 years’ service or more in addition to other technical conditions,” noted Ali.

He commended the relentless efforts of the team tasked with the organization of this trip to ensure the successful delivery of the event, and add happiness to this segment. The trip included two lectures; one about Umrah Rituals, and the other about lessons learnt from Umrah experience. He also gratefully thanked the Tanzifco Emirates L.L.C for sponsoring this Umrah trip.

Upon returning from the holy sites, drivers expressed deep thanks to the Public Transport Agency for this great initiative, which they believe would cement the links between the Agency, employees and drivers rendering them a single community. They also expressed deep gratitude for this kind gesture that has materialized the dreams of many drivers, and paid tribute to RTA’s policy of offering Hajj & Umrah trips to a select bunch of employees.
