Samsung Galaxy S6 UAE price drops ahead of S7 launch

It is not just the old iPhones that are dropping prices. Ahead of the launch of the next Samsung Galaxy S7, older models, especially the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge are witnessing some serious drop in prices.

The prices have dropped by almost 40 per cent with devices that were selling for about Dh2700 when they were first launched now selling for about Dh1,600.

The South Korean firm is expected to unveil its new Galaxy S7 at the Mobile World Congress and the expectations are pretty high about some of the new features.

Meanwhile, for those who are curious about how the new devices could look, images have been leaked right here in Dubai.

An advert posted on Dubizzle had put the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge device for sale and was charging Dh4,500 for the same. However, the listing on the classified website has since been removed.

Meanwhile the prices of older models have been dropping fast. On Dubizzle itself a 16GB Galaxy S6 Edge is selling for Dh1,799. Another online site mobileshop.ae is also selling the device for 1,797, while the same device is priced at Jumbo for Dh2,274 and at Lulu;s online store for Dh2699.

It is not just the S6 Edge that has dropped prices. The Galaxy S6 (32GB) can be purchased for Dh1518. The model is selling at Lulu for Dh2199 and at Jumbo for Dh1674.

If you are looking at a slightly older model the Galaxy S5 can be obtained for a little more than Dh1000. The device is selling for Dh1058 at mobileshop.ae. The product was selling at Jumbo for Dh1569 but is currently out of stock.

One of Samsung’s best selling models the Galaxy Note 5 is priced at Dh1890. At Jumbo it is priced at Dh2374.
