Abu Dhabi police seized an Arab expatriate who had committed a series of robberies involving stealing expensive items from cars and snatching money from people just after they leave their bank.
The 26-year-old man, identified only as MSH, was caught after carrying out 16 robberies in the capital and police said he had used professional techniques in his operations, according to local newspapers.
Police said they had retrieved most of the stolen items, including money, jewelry, purses, watches, cameras, glasses, mobile phones and laptops.
"He targeted bank clients, waiting for them to leave with their money and following them…he would then snatch the money and run away," said Brigadier Makoum Al Sharifi, director of the Capital police.
"Regarding the other items, he had used a stolen ID card to sell them to shops in the city…he used advanced techniques to rob cars."
