Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Fourth World Government Summit 2016, said national and international partners of the event, from the public and private sectors, share the common vision of finding a global platform to shape the future for the good of humanity.

He noted that organising a global summit of this size is not possible without the partners who gathered for the first time in the UAE to achieve a shared vision, shape the next generation of governments and help establish the UAE as a future centre of knowledge.

From February 8-10, the UAE government will host hundreds of leaders from around the world - including government representatives, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and heads of multilateral organisations - for the World Government Summit 2016, to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

This year's theme is 'Shaping Future Governments,' and the agenda is focused on global challenges and solutions around delivering government services.

Sunny Varkey, Founder and Chairman of Gems Education, a partner of this year summit, noted that education is central pillar of the UAE's efforts to build a knowledge-based economy and achieve the UAE Vision 2021.

The World Government Summit represents an ideal platform for shaping the future and will have effective contribution to the approach to education, he noted, adding that it is high time profound changes were made to education to make it an enjoyable experience.

Shamsheer Vayalil, Managing Director, VPS Healthcare, a partner of the World Government Summit 2016, noted that the group seeks to contribute to the UAE's efforts to develop its healthcare sector.

The World Government Summit 2016 will include the Museum of the Future, which will showcase new technologies that can support government services, and the Edge of Governments exhibit, which will highlight 15 case studies on Governance 2.0.

It will also honour the winners of the 'Best Minister in the World' award, 'Best Mobile Government Service' award, and 'Innovative Teacher' award.

After the summit, organisers will release several research reports and surveys.
