Sharjah boy goes to sleep behind car; driver reverses onto him

A 5-year-old Arab boy has been seriously injured after he fell asleep behind a car and the driver ran over him without realising he was there.

The boy fell asleep behind a car parked in front of the building he lives in in Al Dhaid, Sharjah, Emarat Al Youm reports.

Eyewitnesses state that the child was playing with his friends and then fell asleep behind one of the cars parked there.

The owner of the vehicle reversed to leave the parking when he felt that he bumped into something. When he got out to see what happened, he found the child under his car.

An official source at Al Dhaid hospital told Emarat Al Youm that the owner of the vehicle brought the child to the hospital.

Medical examinations showed that the child had a deep cut in his groin tissue in addition to several injuries on his body and head.

The boy has been admitted to the intensive medical care section.
