Sharjah debt relief: Prisoners freed

The commission to settle debts of the citizens of Sharjah, formed under the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has announced the release of first batch of Emirati prisoners involved in financial cases.

Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shaikh, Chief of the Sharjah Amiri Court and Chairman of the commission said they started to prepare lists of citizens in the emirate who are eligible for debt settlement.

"The commission started its work by looking into the debt-ridden citizens who are imprisoned, or involved in financial cases to ease their burden and worries and bring stability to their homes and families," he added.
