Sharjah residents to soon pay parking via SMS

Sharjah municipality will soon implement a service where motorists will be able to pay their parking fees through text messages, Al Khaleej reported.

Ahmed Albardan, Head of Public Parking Lots in the Sharjah Municipality said that a couple of payment machines will soon be installed in Al Majaz, Al Nedd, Al Mahatta, Al Liyya, Al Nasiriya and Abu Tina.

Work is under way to increase the number of parking lots as well.

Currently the number of reserved parking lots in Sharjah is 205 and the number of areas allocated to the municipality are only 2.

The Sharjah Municipality has started building multi-storey parking lots in densely populated areas namely Al Majaz, Al Qasimiya and others.
