Sharjah Ruler issues Emiri Decree establishing Wasit Council

- H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued an Emiri Decree No. 1 of 2023 establishing the Wasit Suburb Council Sharjah.
The Decree named the following members for Wasit Suburb Council in Sharjah:

1. Ahmed Khalfan Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi.
2. Ahmed Mohamed Salih Al Hammadi.
3. Abdullah Hassan Saleh Mohammed Al Yassi.
4. Abdullah Saeed Khamis Al Suwaidi.
5. Abdulaziz Ali Mohammed bin Dakhin Al Matroushi.
6. Abdulaziz Mohammed Khamis Al Suwaidi.
7. Mohammed Sultan Ahmed Bin Khadim.

The Council chooses a chairperson and a vice at its first meeting from among its members by either board agreement or direct secret ballot. The vice-chairman becomes acting chairman in the event of the chairman’s absence or vacant position.

The membership term of the Council is four years, starting from the date of establishment. The Council continues its work upon the end of its term until establishing a new one. Those whose membership term has ended may be re-appointed.

The Decree shall come into force from the date of its issuance and shall be implemented by the concerned authorities, each in its jurisdiction. It shall be published in the Official Gazette.
