Silence of the lambs: 175 sheep vanish in Al Ain

An Emirati farmer in the eastern oasis town of Al Ain got the shock of his life when he went to his farm to count his sheep but found no sheep. All his 175 sheep and goats just vanished—along with his Asian farm worker.

Police were shocked as well. When they asked Sultan Khamis Al Yehyani how many heads have been missing, he replied :”all of them…and the worker.”

Yehyani said he went to his farm in Sheab Al Gaf near Al Ain city on Tuesday to check his animal wealth but found no sheep.

“Yehyani said his loss was around Dh200,000…he has no idea what happened, how the sheep vanished and where the Asian worker has gone,” the Sharjah-based Arabic language daily Alkhaleej said, adding that the worker appears to have turned off his mobile phone.
