Steel bars found in powder milk tin

An Arab mother in Sharjah was shocked to find steel bars in a powder milk tin she was using.

Samira Mohammed was quoted as saying by 'Al Ittihad' newspaper that she discovered two steel bars from the powder milk tin.

She immediately filed a complpaint with Sharjah Municipality, who took the tin from her and confiscated the products from the shop from where she picked up the tins.

Inspectors from the Food Control Section sent samples of the product for test and found they were all safe.

Sultan Al Mualla, Director-General, Sharjah Municipality, said: "The emirate is free of contaminated milk." He urged all residents to report any similar incident to the municipality."

Shatha Al Mualla, Acting Director, Public Health Department, Sharjah Municipality, said the municipality will inform the supervisory authority, which in turn will take action against the company that produces the product.
