Syrian national wins Nissan Grand Raffle

Each edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival brings with it many celebratory moments, and the festival’s 19th edition is no exception. With the daily DSF Mega Raffles, several participants are getting the chance to claim prizes in the form of cars, gold and cash.

This time, the reward that comes with the Nissan Grand Raffle, went to Nizar Ahmed from Syria, who read about his win on a text message that he opened at 6am in the morning. He also saw seven missed calls from the same number from the previous night.

Ahmed had bought the Nissan Grand Raffle coupon at a petrol station at around 5:30 am. He was reluctant to buy it first but upon persuasion from the gas station attendant, he bought the raffle coupon.

“The attendant was keen on selling the coupon to me. He confidently told me that this was the lucky coupon and would make me the winner of a Nissan car,” said Ahmed.

On the day that he won, Ahmed slipped into the bed early after a long day’s work. He woke up early next day and opened the text message. Ahmed waited until a few hours to call the Global Village to confirm the news.

“I am not sure what I would like to do with the Nissan car. I may use it myself or gift it to my wife as a present,” said Ahmed when asked about what his plans for the prize.

The Nissan Grand Raffle gives one lucky shopper every day a chance to drive away one model from 14 top Nissan cars including Pathfinder, Armada, Murano, Xterra, Patrol, Qashqai, Juke, Maxima, Altima, Sunny, Tidda, Micra Hatchback, Sentra and 370Z.

Participants can obtain raffle coupons at Enoc and Eppco stations by spending a minimum of Dh20 on all non-fuel purchases throughout the DSF 2014, which started on January 2 and will go on till February 2.
