At 9.15am, Dubai Police reported on a crash on Al Khail Road, heading towards Emaar Boulevard.
In a tweet via its official Twitter handle, the authority stated: “An accident has been reported after Business Bay Bridge towards Al Khail Road before the Dubai Mall exit.”
Around the same time, Twitter user @Trafficdxb reported on a crash on the parallel road.
It stated: “Major accident on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, opposite Jumeirah Village Triangle, approaching the Dubai Investments Park roundabout causing heavy congestion. Please drive safe.”
A five-vehicle crash was reported at 9am, which was still causing traffic jams on the Umm Suqeim Road nearly an hour later.
Abu Dhabi Police also reported on traffic at 9.27am following an accident on Sheikh Zayed Road after 27th Street before 25th Street.
