Taxi driver gets one year jail for attempted rape

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a Pakistani taxi driver to one year in jail for an attempted rape of a maid.

The convict, identified as DKJ, 30, will be deported after serving his jail term.

According to the victim, DKJ entered the house of the victim by claiming to be a CID officer.  

When the maid opened the door, he made some random inquiries following which he asked for sex.

“When I refused, he attempted to strangle me with the pillow and started molesting and assaulting me. I resisted with all my force, so he ran away. I ran after him to the street and asked help from pedestrians who caught him and informed the police,” she testified.
