3-day weekend in UAE for Prophet's birthday

Humaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Human Resources, on Tuesday issued a circular shifting the public holiday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) from Tuesday February 15 to Thursday February 17.

Federal ministries, government departments and all schools will remain closed to celebrate Milad Al Nabi.

Banks said they were waiting for a directive from Central Bank, while private sector employees were likely to be left at the generosity of their companies.

Consequently, the UAE will enjoy a long weekend from Thursday until Saturday.
On this occasion, Al Qattami offered congratulations and blessings to the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and fellow members of the Supreme Council of the Federation of Rulers of the Emirates, asking God Almighty to bless them and the people of the UAE and the Arab and Islamic nations with good health and wellness.
