Trucks flip over in Dubai and Abu Dhabi accidents
Two major accidents were reported on Tuesday, both involving a lorry tipping over in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Earlier on Tuesday, Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that a goods carrier had tipped over on Salam Street, at the mouth of the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel, heading out of the capital.
The vehicle tipped over on its side, with boxes of a laundry detergent strewn over the busy road during the morning and early afternoon commute.
Two lanes of the three-lane road were blocked by the debris, while the windshield of the white truck appeared to have fallen out on impact.
The cause of the accident is still unclear.
Meanwhile, further across the highway, a similar accident has been reported around 1.15pm on Sheikh Zayed Road, heading in the direction of Dubai, with eye witnesses reporting that a truck had flipped over in the middle of E11.
Witnesses further state that while Dubai Police officials are on the scene, two lanes opposite the Jebel Ali Free Zone, where the accident happened, are blocked due to the vehicle and falling debris.
