Two Indians allegedly conned a Filipina who was in need of work and allegedly smuggled her from her home country and forced her into prostitution, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

QAS, 42, and SKK, 26, a juice maker, are accused of human trafficking by bringing MR, 29, promising her a secretarial job in QAS' company.

As she arrived in the country they confined her and QAS had forcibly had sex with her, eventually the two forced her into prostitution.

The victim MR testified that she met a woman called Shrbel in her country who claimed that she works in a shop in Dubai shopping mall and offered her a secretarial job in a company for Dh2,500 to Dh3,000 monthly salary.

“She told me that the company is ready to issue me residency and offer me accommodation if I passed the training period. She also told me that I have to pay back Dh5,000 residency cost. I accepted the offer and gave her a photocopy of my passport. In August she told me that the visa and the air ticket is ready and asked me to prepare myself to travel. In the airport Sharbel handed me the air ticket and the visa. QAS and SKK were waiting for me in Dubai International Airport and they took me to a flat on Al Riqqa road which they said was the company accommodation. While in the car SKK took my passport and the visa. They asked me to use the bed room to rest. Three days later I was told to work as a prostitute. I refused and told them that I came here for a decent job. They asked me to forget that and to prepare myself to attract clients in bars. They have given me a SIM card with a list of telephone numbers of clients asking me to call them and offer them massage and sex against Dh250 to Dh400.

She complied to their pressure as she was alone in Dubai and knew no one.

She started working as a prostitute and the duo collected money after every 15 days. QAS forcibly had sex with her but on second attempt she refused. They threatened to deport her and ban her from re-entering the country.

MR had an argument with them, "I called my friend's husband Ismail and told him about the situation. SKK noticed me calling and my mobile was disconnected. I used my Philippines SIM card and messaged Ismail the address. At mid night, Ismail came with the police and broke into the flat. SKK jumped from the window but was later both the accused were arrested".
