Two held in Sharjah for robbing cab drivers

Sharjah Police arrested two Arab men accused of robbing taxi drivers by pretending to be passengers, newspapers reported on Sunday.

The two confessed to the police that they have robbed many taxi drivers by using force while the car is moving.

Newspapers said one passenger used to sit next to the driver and the other in the back seat as part of the plan.

“While the car moved, the one in the back seat would grab the driver’s neck, while the one in the front seat stole cash,” Al Bayan daily said.
