Two Indians killed in road accident in UAE

Two Indians died on the spot and a third passenger was seriously injured following a head-on collision between a trailer and a pick-up van on the Ruwais-Abu Dhabi Road today morning, eye witnesses told Emirates 24l7.

The tragic accident happened at around 7am today when the van carrying vegetables and fruits crashed into the trailer, leaving two of its passengers dead and the third, driver of the van, seriously injured.

The two employees of Grey Mackensy who died in the accident were identified as Tahir (28) from Payyannur, Kannur, and Deepu, 22, Trivandrum, Kerala. The injured driver, Salam, is undergoing treatment at the Gayath Hospital, Abu Dhabi.

The dead bodies of the two victims will be repatriated after completing the police inquiry and legal formalities.

Earlier this month, around two dozen people – mostly labourers – died in serious accidents on the Al Ain-Abu Dhabi highway.
