On the directives of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Khalifa Foundation is continuing the campaign, ‘UAE Response to Syrian Families and Affected Lebanese,’ estimated to number 100,000, in Lebanon.
An official source at the foundation said that the campaign, overseen by the Humanitarian and Developmental Attache at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, would be continued in the Saadnayel area and other northern Lebanese provinces, the Al Kharroub region and Central Beqqa area.
The source added that the campaign would cover about 24,285 Syrian and Lebanese families at a cost of Dh6 million, adding that it aims to meet the requirements of displaced people in winter.
"Each family will get a food parcel, cleaning materials, blankets and winter clothes for different age groups. The aid will also be distributed to Lebanese people affected in the Central Beqqa region," the source said
More than 3,500 Syrian families in Saadnayel will receive the UAE assistance.
