UAE higher education providers join iTunes U

The UAE government premier higher education institutions - UAE University, Zayed University and Higher Colleges of Technology - have joined Apple's iTunes U, the world's largest online catalog of free education contents.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said the network will enable the UAE's three higher education providers to offer online educational contents and paths and students will have easy access to huge valuable learning contents.

The qualitative move, Sheikh Nahyan added, affirmed the abilities of these national education institutions to embrace the latest learning technology, and underlined their growing partnership with Apple and other world's leading universities.

“The initiative will transform the classroom into a free wall place where students can access to knowledge from all over the world,” he noted.

iTunes U gives educators an easy way to design complete courses with audio, video, and other content and distribute them through the iTunes U app

From the iTunes U app, students can play video or audio lectures and take notes that are synchronized with the lecture.

They can read books and view presentations.

The powerful iTunes U app integrates with iBooks and other apps to make it easy for students to keep up with your course.
