Health condition of the UAE Haj pilgrims is good, and no incidence of epidemics or infectious diseases has been reported, according to Mohammed Obaid Al Mazrouei, Head of the UAE Haj Mission.

"The pilgrims who visit the mission's clinics mainly complain of cold, flu, muscles pain or symptoms that are common among all pilgrims," Al Mazrouei said.

He urged the pilgrims to report to the nearest health facility if faced with health problems to get the appropriate medical treatment.

Al Mazrouei toured the UAE pilgrims’ camp in Mina and was reassured of adequate facilities there.

He said that this year's camps will have new and spacious tents with foldable mattresses to guarantee maximum comfort for the pilgrims as they ready themselves for the Haj climax.

Meanwhile, the Haj Mission launched on Wednesday night a new programme for electronic inspection and evaluation of the Haj and Umrah convoys.

The new programme has a direct link with the department of Haj and Umrah at the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf (Endowments).
