The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has warned the drivers and road users of the poor visibility due to the dust stirred by strong wind.
It urged public not to frequent the sea, whose wave has risen to 7 feet at Arzanah Island in Abu Dhabi.
The NCMS forecasted in a statement today that rain will fall, especially in the north and that the weather will be dusty.
Teacher probed over extortion bid
A French teacher has been arrested after allegedly trying to extort 10,000 euros from parents whose son was threatened with expulsion for misbehaviour, a prosecutor said Friday.
The alleged scam came to light after a disciplinary committee decided last month to exclude the boy, AFP said.
"The father said to the committee 'I don't understand why he is being excluded when I'm paying so that he isn't'," said Bernard Beffy, prosecutor in the northern town of Avesnes-sur-Helpe.
The boy first got into trouble in December 2011, for throwing scrunched-up paper at the teacher now under investigation. Six months later, the teacher contacted the parents and asked for 10,000 euros compensation for the "serious traumatic impact" of the boy's "attack".
As the parents could not come up with the cash, negotiations followed which resulted in the family paying the teacher and his partner installments of 300 euros a month.
The teacher and his partner face prison terms of up to seven years if convicted.
