Dubai Police confirmed the incident on its official Twitter account, warning motorists to avoid the Madinat Jumeirah area due to traffic congestion.
Dubai Police tweeted about the fire at 12.25pm, saying: “A vehicle is on fire, which is hindering traffic on Jumeirah Beach Road, in front of Burj Al Arab, heading in the direction of Madinat Jumeirah.”

Motorists may use Al Wasl Road as an alternative.
Residents have also taken to social media reporting on a black plume of smoke in the surrounding area.
