Video: Emirates A380's 2020 tattoo

Emirates airline is the Premier Partner of the World Expo 2020 being held in Dubai. Alan Dearsley of the Emirates Aircraft Appearance Centre says he and his colleagues are very proud to be part of the project that gives the airline’s many jumbo A380s a Dubai Expo 2020 makeover.

The Dubai-based airline has published a YouTube video showing what it says is “one of the many ways we are supporting this prestigious event – by having a special Expo 2020 Dubai decal on our entire fleet of Airbus A380s, which is also the world’s largest fleet of A380s”.

In effect, the world’s largest fleet of A380 jumbo passenger carriers is systematically getting a Dubai Expo 2020 tattoo, or a decal.

A decal (or transfer) is a plastic, cloth, paper or ceramic substrate that has printed on it a pattern or image that can be moved to another surface upon contact, usually with the aid of heat or water.

Dubai’s Emirates says it shares “the passion for connecting people around the world to share ideas, cultures and experiences and we’re excited at this fantastic opportunity to show the world what an innovative and dynamic city Dubai is.”
