Watchman denies molesting 2-year-old

An Indian watchman of a building denied molesting a two-year-old Jordanian girl at the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday.

The father of the child alleged that his daughter and the suspect, NP, 21 who was showing them the flat, disappeared while they were touring the property in Oud Mehta block, according to media reports.

They began a frantic seach for the child. A little later they heard her cry upstairs. "She was very scared and cried...She said that the accused beat her  on the hand and took her upstairs and removed her dress...," the father alleged.

He immediately called the police. Meanwhile, the watchman remained missing. On police interrogation, the suspect said he had gone to the 10th floor as his supervisor had called him and that the child followed him.

He even denied the accusation in court. "I am not guilty… I did not do that," he said.

However, Dubai Police forensic laboratory report goes against him.

The case has been adjourned.
