Those planning to make the most of the winter season outdoors may find things a little hot under the collar this weekend with the Mercury sending temperatures to mid-30s, with increased humidity levels adding to the discomfort.

The country’s National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) recorded Thursday’s lowest temperature, which has already spiked to double-digit, resting at 13.2 Celsius in Qasyoura at 6.15am.

The heat will not let up this Friday or Saturday, reaching up to 35 degree Celisus by midday.

The country’s weather bureau has offered some respite by forecasting partly cloudy weather at times, adding there will be “moderate winds in general with the relative humidity due to increase during night and early morning over some coastal and internal areas”.

On Saturday, the weather is not likely to change from Friday’s forecast, with a chance of fog formation late night and early morning, especially towards the western part of the country.

Meanwhile, marine warning that had been in place has been lifted, with the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea faring a temperament that will range from slight to moderate.
