Dubai’s Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa, the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, has been named as one of the best hotels in the world for 2014.

According to Tripadvisor, the resort was placed at number 12 out of 25 international hotels.

The results were based on the large numbers of votes received by travellers who had personally experienced the rich Arabian hospitality at the secluded Al Maha Desert Resort situated 65 kilometres away from Dubai.

The secluded spot offering suites with their own pool, highlights the Bedouin heritage and traditions, with activities such as falconry, desert safaris, horse riding and camel trekking.

As the only entry from Dubai, 3 entries are located in India while 3 are based in The Maldives.

Here is the list of hotels from around the world that made it to the top 25 for 2014.
