On Friday February 1, hundreds of participants will descend into the waters and swim an 800 metre loop around the Burj Al Arab under the watchful eyes of the Wild Wadi Lifeguards.
With six categories to compete in as either a team or individually, the swim is open to both males and females of all ages. Registration is from 6am to 7.30am and costs Dh275 per person with all funds donated to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
In 2010, 500 swimmers raised over Dh205,000 for MSF. In 2011, 678 swimmers raised over Dh256,000.
From health club memberships and two-night stays in Burj Al Arab, to Wild Wadi Waterpark passes and meals in Jumeirah restaurants, the winners placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category have plenty of prizes up for grabs.
Registration takes place at Wild Wadi Waterpark entrance.
