A 25-year-old Pakistani woman smuggled 4,998 forged bank notes totalling about one million Indian rupees, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The Dubai Prosecution accused SBK, visitor, of smuggling 977 notes of 1,000 value and 3,682 notes of 500 value, acknowledging that she knew the notes were fake.

Dubai Airport Inspector Shams Al Nisa testified that one of SBK’ luggage bag showed abnormal density. Asking her about what does the luggage contain, she replied personal stuff. She said that she does not possess keys of the bag and does not know the secret number and did not mind opening it.

“In the bag we found male dress and some packed sweets. Although it was completely emptied, the bag still showed high density, so it was broken and bank notes were found hidden in,” she testified.

“Although the passenger said that the bag carried personal belongings, it contained male dress,” testified another inspector.

The accused testified before the prosecution that she handed over the key of the bag to the inspection officer whereas the witnesses testified that she did not possess the key and claimed that does not know the lock’s secret number.
