A Tajik woman stalled the entry of policemen for five minutes to enable her Pakistani boyfriend to throw narcotic drugs out of their room, the Dubai Criminal Court heard

The jobless Pakistani and his Tajik girlfriend are accused of possessing drugs and having sex outside marriage.

Police were tipped off about AA, 34, and his 27-year-old girlfriend MS taking drugs in the hotel where they stayed.

After investigating the tip off, police obtained arrest warrant and headed to the hotel to arrest the couple.

On December 27, at noon, when police officers knocked at the door, the woman took five minutes to open the door after she learnt who were standing outside.

During this time, her boyfriend managed to get rid of some of the drugs by putting wraps and tablets in a cloth bag and throwing it out of the room’s window.

“We searched the two but did not find anything with them. However, the room’s window was open and, looking down from the window, I saw a white cloth bag. My colleague brought it up and opening the bag in front of them, we found heroin and crystal drug,” testified Second Lieutenant Khalifa Mohammed.

The man admitted that the drugs belonged to him and that he threw it out of the window, as he was scared.

Police officers searched the room and found eight wraps of crystal in a bedside drawer.

The two were arrested and their urine samples tested positive to drugs.

The two admitted to the accusations of taking drugs and having consensual sex.

However, the man denied supplying his girlfriend with drugs.

The court will give sentence on March 17.
