Youth key culprit in Abu Dhabi accidents

People aged 18-30 years emerged as the main cause of road accidents in Abu Dhabi, accounting for nearly 47 per cent of the total traffic mishaps in 2015.

Police figures showed the 31-45 age group accounted for 35 per cent of the accidents, while drivers below 18 years old caused 61 crashes.

The report, published in the Arabic language daily ‘Al Bayan’, showed the accidents were caused mainly by speeding, reckless driving, sudden swerving, negligence, and lack of concentration and attention.
