Zayed made the UAE an oasis of giving, love, tolerance, compassion: Lubna Al Qasimi

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, said that the founder of the UAE and the builder of its modern renaissance, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, was keen to make the UAE a nation of giving, love, tolerance and compassion.

She highlighted that the UAE has become an international model to follow in giving and humanitarian and development work, as the generous hands of the nation have reached out to all parts of the world and their people, without discrimination.

In her speech on the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work, which coincides with the 19th Ramadan of every year, she stated that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan highlighted the leading humanitarian vision of the UAE and promoted the nation’s mission of tolerance as its permanent culture. She added that President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has continued the journey of giving, tolerance and brotherhood, along with Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates.

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi stressed that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had inspired the UAE’s leadership and people, and they inherited his love for humanitarian work without discrimination, as the UAE has become a leader in making people happy, helping vulnerable people and rescuing the victims of hurricanes, floods, wars and conflicts.

She added that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s words and actions had proven that interactions with others should be based on human values, equality, justice, citizenship, solidarity and co-operation, which contributed to strengthening the values of tolerance, respect for pluralism and accepting others intellectually, culturally and religiously, as well as rejecting all forms of violence, extremism, discrimination and racism.
