F1 car zooms into Abu Dhabi mall

It is a bit of an unusual site when the F1 World Champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing car zips through the streets of Abu Dhabi. But it gets crazier, when the sports car suddenly disappears behind the doors of the yet to open Yas Mall on Yas Island.

The race car, driven by driver international racer Carlos Sainz, cruises past some of Yas Island’s landmarks as he journeys his way across the island towards Yas Mall.

Here, the car seamlessly zooms around the new fashion avenue, accelerating through the corridors and taking a spin through some of the mall’s open spaces.

Sainz did not have to worry about the local police, as he was indeed invited for the stunt. As part of the wider Yas Mall launch campaign, the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team flew over to perform the impressive stunt, explained Talal Al Dhiyebi, Executive Director of Asset Management at Aldar Properties.

“The mall is a destination for unique and innovative experiences, and this event perfectly embodies those values. The video complements the 2014 F1 World Championship which is set to conclude at the Yas Marina Circuit in November," he added.

The Yas Mall will open its doors in November this year and the launch campaign is now in full swing, as retailer fit-outs continue at an accelerated pace with 95 per cent of outlets committed in terms of leasing.
